On the 30th of July 2021 at 10:00 CEST the RAPTOR team opened the application and kicked off the RAPTOR competition with an online event! View the full event recording here.
The event began with an overview of EIT Urban Mobility and RAPTOR by project lead Martí Massot. He described the competition benefits, timeline, and rules. Next, the niche urban mobility challenges were presented by representatives from the participating cities!
First, the Innovation Project Manager of Toulouse Métropole presented their challenge – reverse logistic, focusing on bio-waste collection from restaurants around the Grand Matabiau. After that, the Sales & Hospitality Manager of Tour & Taxis presented their challenge – vehicle sharing, focusing on the reduction of congestion and making better use of private mobility resources.


Next, the New Technologies, Information & Transparency Councilor of Cunit City Council presented their challenge – smart data collection, focusing on GIS systems and road maintenance. Finally, a representative from the RAPTOR team presented the on behalf of the Sustainable Mobility Councilor of the Valencia City Council their challenge – adapting traffic demand, focusing on increased update of public transport and decreasing pollution.


After the four presentations of the niche urban mobility challenges, the RAPTOR team explained the application platform and how to submit a solution to the competition. For the final part, the floor was opened to questions and the event concluded! Find a recording of the event here.
What´s next for RAPTOR??
Potential applicants are invited to join the RAPTOR team once more before submitting their applications, on the 15th of September for an online Q&A event.
The applications are now officially opened on Awards Platform and will close on the 3rd of October 2021!
