Pilot your innovative urban mobility ideas in smart European cities
City Rapid Applications for Transport (RAPTOR) is a programme that swiftly creates and tests solutions to niche urban mobility challenges of cities across Europe.
City RAPTOR is a city-driven, challenge-based, and agile innovation programme of EIT Urban Mobility.
The programme matches niche city urban mobility challenges to solutions from startups and SMEs.
Startups and SMEs can either:
Awarded startups and SMEs get 6 months to develop a product/service/solution to solve the city challenge.
CONNECT WITH INNOVATIVE STARTUPS
Access disruptive solutions from our network and bring the newest technologies into your city.
TEST THE BEST SOLUTIONS BEFORE INVESTING
De-risk the innovation process through agile pilot testing and validate ideas before scaling up.
BECOME AN INNOVATION LEADER
Create a business reference case.
Real life testing of your solution in corresponding city.
Potential invitation to other programmes with EIT Urban Mobility.
We launch an open call to scout for innovative solutions. Startups/SMEs compete to provide the most innovative, feasible, and impactful solutions to these city mobility challenges.
Winning startups and SMEs work closely with the respective city to develop and tailor the solution. Projects receive the first half of the EIT funding and have regular check-ins with the EIT Urban Mobility RAPTOR team.
Two week minimum in-situ testing of the solution and final completion of solution within the project timeframe. Projects receive the second half of the EIT funding.

‘A great opportunity to explore new markets and possibilities!‘
‘RAPTOR gave us a precious opportunity to test our technology in a tier 1 city. We have a great local partner assigned to us. They helped us to understand the market, communicate with the municipality office and engage with our trial users. We cannot recommend this opportunity highly enough!‘
Raptor has helped bring out the best in our team on a demanding international project with multiple stakeholders.’
‘The Childfy app is highly valued as a solution to the traffic congestion experienced at school entrances and exits. The app was proposed by the Municipality of Cascais, and its implementation is expected to provide an effective solution to this long-standing problem.’
– Bernardo Correia, Pedagogical Director of the Salesianos de Manique school.
‘A highly valuable pilot, that helped us better design our safety digital twin solution for cities and their vision zero goals.‘
‘The pilot was designed to demonstrate that the technology actually works in real conditions. The municipality was pleasantly surprised with the results. As a consequence of the RAPTOR prograprogram, additional tests and stakeholders within the municipality will be added to thoroughly examine the different use cases and benefits for the city.‘
