WHAT IS CITY RAPTOR?
CITY Rapid Applications for Transport (RAPTOR) is a competition that swiftly creates and tests solutions to niche urban mobility challenges of cities across Europe.
CITY RAPTOR is a city-driven, challenge-based, and agile innovation programme of EIT Urban Mobility. RAPTOR is funded by EIT Urban Mobility, an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union.
CITY RAPTOR matches niche city urban mobility challenges to solutions from start-ups and SMEs.
Awarded start-ups and SMEs get 5 months to develop a product/service/solution to solve the city challenge.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

2. OPEN START-UP COMPETITION
3. PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
We work with cities to understand and define their niche urban mobility challenges, objectives and needs.
We launch an open call to scout for innovative solutions. Start-ups/SMEs compete to provide the most innovative, feasible, and impactful solutions to these city mobility challenges.
During the 5 month project timeframe, winning start-ups/SMEs work closely with the respective city to develop and pilot the solution in a real-life environment.
August project kick-off: Agile Solution Development & Mentoring
◢ First half of cash prize (20.000 EU) awarded
◢ You work to develop your solution
◢ Check-ins with EIT Urban Mobility RAPTOR Team
December: Solution Handover and In-Situ Testing
◢ Final completion of solution within timeline
◢ Deadline for min. 1 week live in-situ testing of solution
◢ Second half of cash prize ( 20.000 EU) awarded
BENEFITS FOR START-UPS
Winning start-ups and SMEs receive a variety of monetary and in-kind prizes:

Cash prize of 40.000 EUR which you may spend how you choose

Host city may offer 2-day per week workspace in their offices

Real life testing of your solution in corresponding city

Potential invitation to other programmes with EIT Urban Mobility
WHO CAN APPLY?
Start-ups/SMEs from EU member states or Horizon Europe associated countries, including UK and Switzerland
Start-ups/SMEs that are 10 years old or younger
Start-ups/SMEs that can either:
1. Develop a new product, service or solution;
or
2. Significantly improve an existing product, service or solution.
