Brussels – Shared Mobility Solutions
Challenge
Tour&Taxis is a mixed real estate development close to Brussels North train station. Within the area there are residential, commercial, ministerial, offices, leisure facilities and a 12-ha park, which makes it the biggest park developed in Brussels since 1890. Private vehicles (cars, e-scooters, e-bikes, bicycles, etc.) spend 90% of their time parked and not being used. A solution was sought to meet at least one of the following objectives:
- Better use of the private mobility resources
- Reduction of on-surface use of public space
- Reduction of congestion
- Adaptive transport solution for end-users
- Attract new users
- Create a community feeling for users
- Incentives for sharing private vehicles
Solution
Volvero is an app for sharing vehicles that connects owners with people who need one, saving time and money.
Through AI and advanced technologies, Volvero has improved quality and security with crystal-clear full insurance coverage, making it easier, safer and more reliable than other apps.
During the RAPTOR project, Volvero identified how their operational processes should be organised for a successful full-scale launch across EU countries.
Results
•Volvero hosted an event with 30 locals that shared feedback about their needs in terms of transportation.
•Volvero involved 150+ residents and workers of the area.
•There were 10 uses of Volvero for a total of 12 renting days during the 10-day pilot.
